Unveiled at SICAM 2026, CONCEPT stems from a simple question: if design observes people, their behaviors, and their habits, can it also imagine a different way of interacting with an everyday object?

For FIMET , innovation means gaining a deep understanding of what already exists in order to explore new possibilities. It’s not about changing simply for the sake of being different, but about designing a solution capable of introducing a new, intuitive form of interaction that is consistent with human behavior.

CONCEPT is the result of this research and also marks the beginning of a new collaboration with Bonaiti Serrature, a long-established company and brand in the world of locks. The combination of complementary expertise has made it possible to approach the opening system as a whole, integrating mechanics, user experience, and design.

CONCEPT is therefore not just a new design applied to the door, but a solution that focuses on interaction and offers a different way to perform one of the most common actions in our daily lives.

A project in which technical expertise, knowledge of materials, and design culture come together to challenge a long-standing tradition.
