FIMET ’s Innovations at SICAM 2026

The 17th edition of SICAM, the International Trade Fair for Components, Semi-Finished Products, and Accessories for the Furniture Industry, concluded on October 23, bringing together companies and professionals from around the world in Pordenone.
The four-day event was particularly successful for FIMET as well, which participated by showcasing major new products and a new exhibition system—a reflection of the company’s evolving communication strategy launched in 2025.

CONCEPT: A New Way to Interact with the Door

Among the main new products previewed was CONCEPT, the new opening system developed by FIMET thanks to its new in-house team dedicated to product development custom and innovative solutions.
This project stems from a desire to rethink an everyday action, challenging traditional ways of opening and closing doors.

CONCEPT eliminates the need to turn the handle and introduces a more direct and natural interaction, thanks to a system that combines ergonomics, functionality, and technology. It is a solution in which knowledge of materials, design expertise, and technical research make it possible to explore new possibilities.

SECRET is evolving with two new solutions

SICAM 2026 also provided an opportunity to unveil two updates to the SECRET line, the “ FIMET ” system that combines opening and closing into a streamlined solution.

The first new feature is the Rolling System, an alternative mechanism to the traditional lever that uses a knurled roller to make the operation even more compact and ergonomic. This additional option expands the available configurations, meeting different usage needs and, above all, opening up the product to the U.S. market.

The second update concerns the coordination of finishes: the pull-handle , and lock can now be finished in the same color, offering greater visual uniformity and better integration with the door and the interior design. The available coordinated finishes are FNO Matte Black, F02O opaque satin brass effect, F15 anthracite , and F16 Effect satin chrome.

Alongside its new offerings, FIMET presented a selection of its most representative collections, offering visitors an overview of the solutions featured in its catalog.

A new exhibition system, part of a broader initiative

The innovations weren't limited to the products. For SICAM 2026, FIMET developed a new modular display system, designed to showcase the collections and make their presentation clearer and more cohesive.

The project is part of the communication repositioning initiative launched in 2025, which has progressively encompassed the company’s language, imagery, and communication tools.
This year, the initiative has also been extended to the trade show space and product display methods, with the goal of building an increasingly recognizable and consistent identity across various touchpoints with customers and professionals.

Four days of discussions and new opportunities

According to preliminary figures released by the organizers, SICAM 2026 welcomed approximately 24,100 industry professionals, representing 9,450 companies from 125 countries. These figures confirm the event’s role as an international benchmark for the furniture industry.

FIMET ’s assessment is decidedly positive, both in terms of the interest generated by the new solutions and the quality of the meetings.
Direct interaction with customers, partners, and industry professionals allowed the company to gather feedback, gain a deeper understanding of design needs, and identify new opportunities for collaboration.

An experience that provides concrete guidance for continuing the product development work and the path of evolution the company has embarked upon.
